Saturday Joydev evening in New Delhi

It was Saturday evening in New Delhi, over 150 Bishnupriya Manipuri people from all across the city assembled under one roof with one mission – to participate in the Joydev. Ashwini Sinha and Col. Bijoy Sinha brought the Delhi Mercury up, by making the Joydev hot. Youngsters and oldie-goldies alike swing hard to the Joydev music.

Kang Pali faces rough weather

News

In a meeting held at Manglapuri, New Delhi on June 7, 2009 the attendees discussed array of topics from stationery, to land, to finalization of venue, to the logistics related to the organizing the Kang Pali, to be held on June 25, 2009.

The meeting was participated by Bishnupriya Manipuri people from Manglapuri, Sagarpur, Shyam Vihar, CR Park, Gurgaon and from other areas of Delhi.

No consensus was built on finalizing the nitty-gritty involved with the organizing the Kang Pali. Participants preferred organizing the puja at their pocket areas.

Problems have cropped up with the content of the receipt books, letter heads, due to which donation-drive can’t be carried out. With the prevailing sentiments there is less probability that the puja could take place on time, and on a grand scale.

Failure of celebrating the puja collectively by the Bishnupriya Manipuri residents of Delhi and NCR region will douse the spirit and confidence of the people on the Samity.

What is your say – Kang Puja should be organised or not?

Bishnupriya Manipuri Nagarik Samity, Delhi and NCR, in a meeting held on March 8, at Manglapuri, New Delhi, has taken an unanimous decision to fix the subscription fee for its members at Rs 225 per quarter per family.

Watch the last video of Bishnupriya Manipuri New Delhi programme

Watch video!

This is the last video in the Bishnupriya Manipuri New Delhi series. The shoot of the video was done on November 2, 2009 in New Delhi on the eve of birth celebration of Sri Sri Bhubeneshwar Sadhu Thakur.
The series of videos are not mere moving representation of the day and the people. It tells a story of an event where the Bishnupriya Manipuri people living in Delhi and adjoining areas participated, making the event “special” for everyone. Irrespective of age, status, under one roof we all smilingly congregated, becoming egoless creatures.
Watch the smiling faces in this video! You can see everybody wearing a SMILE, a silent smile. You can see people roaming here and there and talking relentlessly with no care of the monotonous life that we all had to undergo.
Watch out!
Happy Holi!!
